Family Photography in Nottinghamshire

Its something you’ll never ‘out grow’, you’ll never fall out of love with and you’ll never get bored.
Family Photography is an art, capturing a time and moment & something you’ll undoubtedly hand down to your children to enjoy as they grow older.
I’m a family photographer based in Nottingham, The East Midlands and would absolutely LOVE to meet you & your family and capture a little bit of your story, because thats what family photography is - its story telling.
I’ve put together a few FAQ’s from previous clients when booking their sessions, grab a cuppa and have a read.
What do we wear? Dress the family as if you were dressing one person. Avoid contrasting colours, bring patterns & heavy logos. Keep it simple, plain white pastel colours work great for in the studio or on location, plus they don’t tend to date. We want these photos to be timeless so avoid following current fashion trends. Think less is more.
How long is a session? I usually need 45 mins to an hour to capture your family. I want you to open up to me, feel comfortable and most importantly have fun without it feeling like a drag or forced. So we may start the session just chatting and getting to know each other, I just find this way you feel more relaxed so I can capture the real you.
Where is the shoot? I like to let you choose. I usually advise on location for larger families or toddlers on the move, as we have more space to roam, also for toddlers and children we can capture their pure innocence as they run, play and interact. As parents I’m sure you’ll understand the need to let your little ones free. My studio sessions are also very natural, we’ll chat, laugh & have you guys interacting so I can photograph your family just being, you!
How do we view our photos? Around a week following your session I’ll invite you back to your viewing and ordering appointment in which we will watch a slideshow of your images, view samples of your images on the products and choose or make a package of photographs to suit exactly what you want.
How and when do I pay for the package? A deposit is taken upfront upon booking. The balance or payment for your package is due at the viewing and ordering appointment, and is paid either via card or cash. Price plans are also available on request.
How should we display our photographs? Something I definitely advise you give some thought to prior to your viewing. Family Photography is your family art work, its not something you’ll get bored or regret spending your money on. Its an investment of your family memories, a tangible item you’ll pass down to your children. Something that should take pride place in your home. Find a wall that needs some love, and we’ll plan exactly for that space. With all of my shoots you will receive a USB of digital images as I understand the importance of having digital files to share with friends and family near and far, just remember this isn’t the safest way of storage long term though.
