What to expect at your Newborn Session …
It really is true when they say the newborn stage is a blur, you blink and its gone. That tiny little scrunched up newborn is now running around, talking, walking dancing around you. And all you have are the memories of that brand new person you created, the flakey skin, the miniature fingers and toes.
Photography allows us to capture and save all those tiny little details, so you can return to those moments when all you have is the memory.
What is newborn photography?
When you google exactly that, you'll find a list of 'best newborn props', 'top ten newborn photography poses', 'newborn photography how to's'.
Because thats what newborn photography seems to have become, trends, expensive props, fuss. Which I mean don't get me wrong I know a lot of very experienced, very creative photographers who do exactly that, they do a good job and it works for them.
But its not me, I like the no fuss, low key life.
I'm one of very few newborn photographers in Nottingham and Leciestershire that lets your baby lead the session. My aim is to go against what is trendy and focus entirely on your brand new baby.
I want to capture the movement, the stretches, the face crinkles, the odd yawn here and there. And most importantly the connection you have with your brand new person.
This means every session will be totally different to the last, because i'm not following a set agenda, I'm telling a story that is so unique to you, so when you look back on your images years down the line, all you feel is that very same love.
Now this may be pretty different to what most newborn photographers in Nottingham aim for, but the unscripted, authentic raw images make my heart sing.
Ideally newborn bookings are taken during pregnancy, this way we can pencil in your due date so we know roughly when to expect you, then if baby arrives early on time or even late, your guaranteed to get a space once your home and sorted, if possible ideally within the first 3 weeks of birth so we can really document the brand newness of your baby.
